Is Your Deodorant Toxic?

Non-Toxic DeodorantDoes your Deodorant Contain This Neurotoxin Which Causes Alzheimers?

Three Things You Can do to Minimise Your Exposure to Aluminium

Have you ever read the label on your deodorant or anti-perspirant? If you're using a normal commercial product, most of it is probably difficult to pronouce gibberish. If the second or third ingredient contains the word ALUM,  ALUMINIUM or ALUMINUM my advice to you is: bin it!

Aluminium has been a known neurotoxin since the early 1960's and has been linked to Alzheimers by various studies. The FDA decided not to ban it in cosmetics, because it did not consider that enough aluminium would enter the bloodstream via the skin to cause problems. Unfortunately, we are being exposed to aluminium through food, water, cosmetics, and common medications like antacids and our bodies are having a hard time eliminating it at the speed needed to stay healthy.

Over time, aluminium accumulates in the body and forms a "plaque". Autopsies of the brains of Alzheimer patients have found excessively high levels of aluminium in them. Conversely, chelation treatment (a process by which a person’s blood is cleaned of specific metals such as aluminium) has shown improvement in patients with Alzheimers.

Why Should I care? Isn't Alzheimer's an Old Persons Disease?
Well actually, Alzheimer's is NOT a sign of normal ageing. In fact currently, 10% of the 18million cases of Alzheimer's worldwide are below the age of 65 and with increased pollution from heavy metals in our environment, it is anticipated that the instances of early-onset Alzheimers is on the rise.

Currently 30,000 people (0.6% of the total population) have Alzheimers in Singapore. The Singapore Alzheimers Disease Association expects the number of Singaporeans suffering from Alzheimers to double by 2025 and to multiply six-fold by 2050.

Three things you can do to minimise your exposure to aluminium:

1. Switch to a deodorant / anti-perspirant that does not contain aluminium
Young Living's Deodorant range is free of aluminium and contains soothing essential oils that are naturally anti-bacterial, so embarrassing odour won't develop.

2. Buy a good water filter
Contaminated drinking water is another major entryway into our blood stream for aluminium.  Luckily, a good water filter will easily eliminate excess aluminium.

3. Don't use aluminium foil
Replace aluminium foil with parchment paper when you are cooking. Instead of wrapping foods in aluminium foil, place them in a glass jar or earthenware bowl in your fridge to keep them fresh.
