Chi Gong & Tai Chi
Chi Gong is a Chinese system for developing internal energy through the use of observation, rhythmic movements and gentle stretches. Focus is on the movement and conservation of energy around the body and once accomplished, practitioners can use these techniques for healing. Chi Gung is popular for combating conditions more prevalent in aging, for helping with sexual problems, and chronic immune system problems.
Thought to be derived from Chi Gung, Tai Chi uses a series of movements to promote a moving meditation where the body is encouraged to flow with the energy in and around the body. Focus is on developing the internal "Chi" or energy of the body and helps develop control, balance, posture and flexibility. Tai Chi has also been seen effective in treating high blood pressure, anxiety, insomnia and other stress related conditions.
