Reboot Your System
Like many people, I sometimes wish my life shared some features with my computer.
For example, there have been times where I got myself in such a tangle juggling a job, my friends and various social commitments that I lost sight of the big picture. It would have been really handy to find that "restart" option in the menu - heck just finding the menu with options would have been great!

In moments like those, taking a step back from my daily routine always proved helpful in creating a space for the answers to my questions to come to me. For me, going home to visit my family somehow gave me that space. For you, it may be a meditation retreat, a yoga class or taking some time out to get to the bottom of a chronic condition that's been nagging you.
Enjoy your weekend - hopefully you will find a moment to recharge your system. Tamara Sigerhall

Meditation 101
Have you ever stopped to think how many things you do on auto pilot on a daily basis to maintain your health? For example, you probably wouldn't think twice about the fact that you are keeping your gums healthy by brushing your teeth - you just kind of do it as part of your daily routine.
|
|
But what about your mental and spiritual health? The rewards of a daily meditative practice, as brief as it may be, can be as great as going to the gym. For instance, an Oxford University study concluded that meditation can serve as an effective tool in overcoming depression.
This article by Toby Ouvry provides a succinct introduction to meditation and a simple exercise that won't take longer than brushing your teeth - so, next time you grab your toothbrush you can be sure you're looking after more than your gums

Release Your Pain Naturally: Emmett Technique
Many people suffer from chronic pain conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome or worse: conditions for which doctors struggle to identify the root cause.
Pain medication is unfortunately often the only way of alleviating discomfort for many sufferers.
|
|
In some instances it makes sense to discuss investigating complementary therapies with your doctor to achieve lasting relief. The Emmett Technique, for example, helps with pain and discomfort by combining the application of light pressure at particular points and in sequences to enable a gentle physical release of muscle groups.
This release enhances a realignment of the body, improves stability and eases discomfort. Emmett is gentle enough to be practiced on infants and particularly helpful with chronic pain conditions and sports injuries.
